On Saturday 23rd October, the EDSB Group embarked on the 500 Mile challenge all across the UK and even in Greece!
The plan was for as many EDSB team members to walk in aid of Prostate Cancer either in one of our 4 organised walks in Newcastle, Leeds, Leicester and Bristol or to do their own family walk instead. In total we had over 150 people taking part, all setting off at 10am across the country in their EDSB charity t-shirts.
All of the events were really successful with excellent turnouts plus plenty of families and dogs involved too. It was a great opportunity to catch up with colleagues and friends and the overall feedback was that everyone enjoyed getting their boots on and getting some fresh air. There were some superstars at all the walks including 8 year old James Senior (centre picture) who was at the front throughout the Leeds event and he has firmly secured his OneTeam status. Very impressive!
The Leicester team deserve a special mention too for their excellent turnout and their combined total of 256 miles, this played a huge part in securing our 500 mile goal. The individual walks took place throughout the weekend up and down the country as well as Kevin Osler achieving his walk whilst on holiday, that’s dedication for you!
Overall the EDSB team achieved 603 miles this weekend, congratulations to you all.
Finally a big thank you to Ken, James, Mark and Matt for leading the regional walks and getting everyone back home safely.
To everyone who has sponsored the event over the past few weeks, please accept our thanks on behalf of Prostate Cancer.
This is a great cause which we are proud to support and it’s not too late to donate, simply click here.
