EDSB SHEQ Manager, Neil Anstee runs the Ultra Marathon

12 April 2024 - news

Neil Anstee has actively committed to running the Ripon Stinger, a 50-mile Ultra Marathon on Saturday 15th June to raise money for his children's football team, Garforth Villa Under 12 Whites, as they plan to go on tour in 2025.

The event starts and finishes in Studley Roger close to the historic city of Ripon, with its great cathedral. This race mainly follows the Ripon Rowel route visiting wooded valleys and historic sites such as the spectacular world heritage site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Water gardens.

In preparation for the run, Neil has run the Welcome Way Trail Race & Ultra Marathon, a 34-mile marathon which took place on the 9th March. This event was a circular trail through moorland landscapes, alongside rivers, canals and reservoirs, across farmland and through woodland.

Neil has set up a GoFundMe page after completing the Welcome Way Trail Race, so show your support and click on the link below to begin donating.

EDSB is proud to stand behind Neil and support his dedication to his football team. He has shown that being a great coach extends beyond the field. Thank you, Neil, and best wishes for the run in June!
