The EDSB Group of Companies have supported grassroots football over the past 5 years and this year we have gone the extra mile and now sponsor various teams across the country.
The latest addition to those teams is Cramlington United Ladies Football Club, who we are delighted to sponsor.
The team’s coaches are Mark Hedley, Dave Malone & Chris Coatsworth. They said “The ladies football team was formed this Summer as there was no women’s team in place. CUFC started their ‘Wildercats’ football programme which was originally formed from their ladies ‘Just Play’ sessions.
The sessions were introduced to offer all women an opportunity to get involved with our community club and provide opportunities that generally don’t exist. However, the popularity of the sessions fast tracked our ambitious plan to create a ladies football team for the 2021/22 season, providing a
pathway for our excellent girls’ football section.
Whilst the main aim of the ‘Wildercats’ programme was to provide something for all women, regardless of experience, ability or age, many of the ladies who have shown an interest in progressing are now playing for Cramlington United Ladies. This year we started training in April and we are proud to already have 30 ladies registered to play this season. Out ethos is about building a solid foundation for our female section. We have a strong base with a positive and encouraging atmosphere where players can thrive, develop and enjoy the game.”
