EDSB SUPPORTING WINNING CRICKET CLUB:
KELFIELD CC

21 October 2022 - news

EDSB Compliance Solutions are proud to sponsor Kelfield Cricket Club. They are represented by our very own Passive Fire Designer, Ryan Lorryman, who has been a major part of this thriving team for the several years. We were very keen to support Ryan and his local club after they won their local league last year and we were delighted to see them win back to back leagues this year, a truly incredible feat!

Club chairman Ken Lawson explains more about who they are and what they have achieved.
“In 2021 we won the York Vale Division 1, which gave us the opportunity to apply to the Yorkshire Premier League North.
We were successfully accepted once we had upgraded our facilities, which included new electrics, a separate score box, refurbishing the pavilion and some other small changes. Although our expectations were to finish mid table, we found ourselves leading the Division after only 3 games and thanks to a lot of hard work and commitment from the officials, ground staff & especially players, we managed to keep the top spot! Although it came down to our last game which we won to secure the title.”

As well as winning the league, Kelfield CC also had an incredible cup run, beating several teams from higher Divisions, eventually finishing runners up to Hull Strikers.

Team Stats:
Gary Moore 1030 runs in both league and Cup - second overall highest run scorer in the division
Craig Lawson 713 runs in both League and Cup
Neil Atkinson 50 Years playing for Kelfield CC and still playing at 61!

“If we can have a successful season next year and win Division 3, moving up to Division 2 will bring more stipulations, including installing showers and having separate changing rooms for officials. This will take some time from our players to complete the works and funds from our much appreciated sponsors. On behalf of everybody at Kelfield CC I would like to send my thanks to the #OneTeam at EDSB for their kind sponsorship for the 2022 season.”

On behalf of EDSB we would like to congratulate Ryan, Ken and the rest of the team. We wish you every success
next year in Division 3, keep up the hard work!
