Engie is a leading energy and services group employing over 17,000 people in the UK. The business has well-established and diverse operations, delivering services to more than 14,000 customer sites across the Public and Private Sector. EDSB were awarded a multi disciplined maintenance contract for 10 schools in January 2015. When the scheduling of these sites was first discussed, the immediate focus had to be based on the timings of when planned preventative maintenance could take place, working around School holidays and restricted access during school hours.
EDSB committed 2 full-time engineers to the project allowing planned maintenance work to be conducted prior to pupils arriving each day. They also agreed a monthly schedule as oppose to the original bi-monthly arrangement, which allowed re-active calls to be handled during the daytime hours where access was permitted. This flexibility in service delivery provided the client with re-assurances of a speedier first time fix rate and also ensured confidence within our preventative maintenance schedule targets. A philosophy which led to a further 10 Schools and 3 NHS Hospitals awarded to EDSB’s maintenance portfolio.
Rez Rahman at Engie FM supports this belief ‘We want a provider with a pro-active mindset and we feel this maintenance approach safeguards the system’s integrity and allows for contingency should it be required. We are very happy to work with EDSB and their team of engineers.’
