EDSB Launches ‘500 Can Challenge’ to Support Homeless Street Angels

As the International Day of Charity approaches on the 5th of September, we find it is the perfect time to show our support and commitment to aiding our community. EDSB would like to initiate a ‘500 Can Challenge’ for charity. For the whole month of September, we aim to collect 500 non-perishable cans of food to donate to Homeless Street Angels, our local charity dedicated to providing essential resources and support to those in need.

At EDSB, we believe in the importance of giving back to the local community and working with this remarkable organisation to provide meals for the less fortunate is a way for us to contribute to their mission and make a tangible difference in the lives of many. We once again are reaching to our #OneTeam for help. We invite everyone at EDSB to participate in this challenge and here’s how you can do it.

How can You Help?
Any non-perishable canned foods can be donated, as long as they are within their sell-by date. It’s as good a time as any to raid your pantry for foods sitting at the back of your cupboard or grab a few extra cans on your next grocery shop.

Other Essentials
In addition to cans of food, Homeless Street Angels’ food bank is also in dire need of other food items. So our employees are also encouraged to donate some of these items:

  • Crisps, biscuits, cereals
  • Tea, coffee, sugar
  • Packets of food
  • Dried food
  • Dilute juices
  • Toiletries

We will send out updates on our progress throughout September and we aim to reach 500 or more by the 30th of September 2024.
EVERY CAN COUNTS and with your help, we can reach our goal to provide much-needed assistance to those in need!
